Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Technical Cooperation between Sri Lanka and Thailand for the Development of Human Resources in Sri Lanka

- The bilateral technical cooperation between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of Thailand plays a significant role in the development of Human Resources in Sri Lanka. The Thailand International Development Cooperation Agency (TICA) has prepared a five year Development Cooperation Programme in collaboration with the Government of Sri Lanka, to provide scholarships and training programmes in the areas of Agriculture, Food Technology, Rural Development and Sufficiency Economy, Tourism Management and Diplomatic Training to Sri Lanka, during the period of 2015-2019. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasingh, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Thailand, to promote Technical Cooperation Programmes between the two countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
