Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2015-11-05

Awarding of contracts for the buildings constructed at the University of Kelaniya, Peradeniya and the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine

- The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to award the following contracts, as recommended by the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committees (CAPCs), was approved by the Cabinet:

(i) the contract for the development of the Postgraduate Institute of Medicine - Rs.1,412.4 million;

(ii) the contract for the construction of a building complex for the Department of Industrial Management of the Faculty of Science, University of Kelaniya to facilitate the introduction of new degree courses in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) - Rs.430.1 million; and

(iii) the contract for the development of the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Peradiniya - Rs.342.3 million.
