Implementation of Third Phase of the Greater Colombo Water and Waste Water Management Improvement Programme

- The Greater Colombo Water and Waste Water Management Improvement Programme is implemented under three (03) phases through the multi-tranche financing facilities of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and Government funds. It is expected to increase the efficiency of the water supply in Greater Colombo through this programme. The total investment of third Phase is US $168.46 million and out of that an amount of US $40.46 million will be contributed by the Government of Sri Lanka. The proposal made by the Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to obtain the balance of US $128 million, as a concessionary loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), was approved by the Cabinet.
