Development of Infrastructure facilities of the Universities and Higher Education Institutes to cater the Degrees related to the Subject of Technology

- Out of the students who have sat for the G.C.E. Advanced Level for the first time under the Technology Stream, 1,800 students are to be admitted to the Universities in the year 2016 as the first batch, who have gained eligibility for the University entrance and the facilities required for the purpose have to be established in the Universities. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to allocate provision to construct the buildings necessary and to purchase the equipment necessary for the Universities of Rajarata, Colombo, Wayamba, Ruhuna and Sri Jayawardenepura, was approved by the Cabinet.
