Press briefing of Cabinet Decision taken on 2015-10-28

Assigning Two Blocks of Lands belonging to Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka on which Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Embilipitiya Depot is situated, to the SLTB

- Embilipitiya Depot was established in the year 1975 in a land belonging to the River Valleys Development Board, and subsequently in the year 1981 that land has been brought under the Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka. The ownership of the land has not yet been formally and legally vested with the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB). Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Nimal Siripala De Silva, the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, to vest the two blocks of land where the said Depot is situated, with the Sri Lanka Transport Board, was approved by the Cabinet.
