Prevention of Child Abuse

- The proposal made by the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, to appoint a Ministerial Committee comprising of the following, to make proposals on the suitable action to be taken to prevent daily increasing child abuses, was approved by the Cabinet.

* Hon. Thilak Marapana, Minister of Law & Order and Prison Reforms (Chairman)

* Hon. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Minister of Justice

* Hon. (Mrs.) Chandrani Bandara, Minister of Women and Child Affairs

* Hon. (Mrs.) Wijayakala Maheswaran, State Minister of Child Affairs

* Hon. (Mrs.) Sudharshani Fernandopulle, State Minister of City Planning and Water Supply
