Common Programme of the National Government

- Hon. Prime Minister brought to the notice of the Cabinet, the necessity of the formulation of a Common Programme for the National Government, based on the proposals which are in the best interest of the country, included in the Election Manifestos submitted by the United National Party (UNP) and other political parties including the United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA), at the recently concluded general election, and that it is appropriate to conduct the future activities of the government accordingly. As such, the Cabinet agreed, that the said programme should be formulated under the leadership of H.E. the President and the Hon. Prime Minister.
