Pre-election Budgetary Position Report -2015

- In terms of the Section 16 of the Fiscal Management (Responsibility) Act, No.3 of 2003, the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance is required to present a Pre_election Budgetary Position Report to the general public, incorporating the information on the fiscal position of the economy, after the publication of Proclamation requiring the holding of the general election and thereafter, to present it in the Parliament. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Finance, to present “the Pre_election Budgetary Position Report 2015” containing the provisional figures of government revenue, expenditure and borrowings during the first five (05) months of the year 2015 and the information on a broad fiscal outlook for the year 2015, in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
