- The supply of fertilizer to the farmers on a subsidy scheme under the Fertilizer Subsidy Programme is being implemented by the Department of Agriculture. The required quantity of fertilizer will be supplied through the Government owned fertilizer companies, namely the Ceylon Fertilizer Company Limited (CFC) and the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Limited, in par with the monthly requirement. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to award the relevant contracts for the supply of the necessary quantity of fertilizer through above companies, as recommended by the Special Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SSCAPC), to distribute among farmers, for the month of October 2015, was approved by the Cabinet.
