- Organizing of International Expositions to showcase the country's export capabilities while facilitating Sri Lankan producers, exporters and service providers to meet the prospective international buyers, partners and potential investors is one of the strategic promotional tools. In the back-drop of the special political and economic developments taken place recently in the country, the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce to hold the 'Sri Lanka Expo - 2016' from 15th - 17th September 2016 at BMICH, Colombo, enabling concerned parties to obtain valuable business experience with a combination of events such as expositions, seminars, meetings, programmes conducted simultaneously and visits to factories, was approved by the Cabinet.
