- In terms of the approval granted by the Cabinet, the Ananda Kuti Buddhist Temple in Swayabunath and the Rathomachindranath Hindu Kovil in Lalitpur which were damaged by the disastrous earthquake which occurred in Nepal recently, have been selected for renovation. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, the Minister of Buddha Sasana, to send a group comprising of relevant officers and technicians to Nepal for the designing of the said renovations, to assign the construction work to the Sri Lanka Army and to allocate a sum of Rs.345 million to the Ministry of Buddha Sasana for the said renovation work, was approved by the Cabinet.
