Implementation of Local Bank funded Water Supply Projects - Medirigiriya Water Supply Project - Phase - II

- The Cabinet has already granted approval for the implementation of the above project and accordingly, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board has entered into agreements with the relevant contractor. The project envisages providing 15,000 new water connections which will contribute to achieving the Government's target of providing 400,000 new water connections in the near future. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, to obtain the funds required for the implementation of the Medirigiriya Water Supply Project-Phase II, was approved by the Cabinet.
