- The proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Power and Energy, to select a suitable investor, for the commercial level development and production of the presently found natural gas deposits in the exploration block SL 2007-01-001 in the Mannar basin, following international competitive bidding, and to appoint a Cabinet Appointed Negotiation Committee to assist in this task, was approved by the Cabinet.
