- Taking into consideration that the enhanced health service facilities can be provided to the people of Matugama, Agalawatta, Dodangoda, Ingiriya, Bulathsinhala, Horana, Beruwala and Balapitiya who possess less health facilities and obtain the services from General Hospital, Kalutara, through improving that hospital, as a specialized maternal and child healthcare hospital, as such, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine, to construct a specialized Maternal and Child Healthcare Centre in the General Hospital, Kalutara, under the Netherlands assistance amounts to Euro28,782,948.30, was approved by the Cabinet.
