- The Cabinet has already granted its approval for the implementation of Segments I and II of the Greater Colombo Water and Waste Water Management Improvement Investment Programme. The proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, to obtain additional funds amount to US$ 35 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), required for the implementation of the next stage of this project, was approved by the Cabinet.
