- The joint proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage and Hon. Navin Dissanayake, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, to vest a plot of land in extent of 20 hectares with the Urban Development Authority and with the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, for the development of the urban, tourist and recreational facilities in the Kalutara Town and Kalido Beach, and also to improve the facilities of the pilgrims, was approved by the Cabinet.
