- The proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, to arrange required funds after conducting negotiations with the relevant banks, to proceed with the implementation of the above two projects, with a view to improving the drinking water supply coverage in Matale and Kandy towns and the suburban areas, to install new water treatment plants and also to improve the other infrastructure facilities, was approved by the Cabinet.
