The renovation of the seven storeyed building of the District General Hospital, Negombo

- District General Hospital, Negombo falls under the administration of the Provincial Ministry of Health, Western Province. Annually, it caters to around 360,000 outdoor patients and around 100,000 indoor patients of the Western and the North Western Provinces. The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine, to carry out the renovation activities of the seven storeyed building of this hospital as recommended by the University of Moratuwa and the Atomic Energy Authority, to provide facilities to continue the services of the hospital in other suitable nearby buildings found in Negombo and the temporary buildings found at the hospital premises, till the completion of the renovation activities, and to assign the relevant renovation activities to the State Development and Construction Corporation, at a sum of Rs.500 million, was approved by the Cabinet.
