- The Urban Development Authority (UDA) has initiated a programme to develop the small and medium township in the country, in line with the future urban development activities, and it is expected to develop the Moragahahena area situated in the Divisional Secretary's Division of Horana as a vibrant commercial sub?centre, under the said programme. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, to work in collaboration with other public institutes for the expeditious development of the Bus Stand, Market, Commercial Complex, Sathi Pola (weekly fare) and Public Play Ground, on a well designed plan and to vest a block of land in extent of 1.354 hectares owned by the government, required for the purpose, with the UDA, as a free grant, was approved by the Cabinet.
