- The China Development Bank provides US$100 million for this project and accordingly the development of the Tangalle – Weeraketiya Road and the Weeraketiya – Middeniya Road is already in progress. The proposal made by Hon. Kabir Hashim, the Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion, to identify the roads that need greater priority instead of the 08 roads that had been identified earlier for development, was approved by the Cabinet.
