- Horana Town is a major service centre in the Kalutara District and it is linked with the major towns of Colombo and Ratnapura Districts through the Regional Road Network. The proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of Urban Development, Water Supply and Drainage, to award the contract for the construction of Stage II of the Horana Bus Stand Development Project to the Sri Lanka Land Reclamation and Development Corporation, was approved by the Cabinet.
