- It was proposed to increase the purchasing price of a litre of Liquid Milk from Rs. 60.00 to Rs.70.00 through the Interim Budget 2015. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. P. Harisan, the Minister of Social Services, Welfare and Livestock Development, to implement the proposed price formula based on the factors such as the percentage of fat in the liquid milk, non-fat solid available in the milk and the total solid content in the liquid milk, prepared after obtaining the views and the consent of the relevant stakeholders, was approved by the Cabinet.
