- A section of the employees who lost their employment due to the closure of the above institutions in 2001, have been recruited for employment, on casual basis, in the Sri Lanka Transport Board. Out of these employees, only a section of employees has been confirmed in their service while others remain unconfirmed. The proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the Minister of Internal Transport, to confirm the remaining employees in their service and to provide them with other rights entitled to them, was approved by the Cabinet.
