- The proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Power and Energy, to direct the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminals Company Limited to conduct a full scale study regarding the construction of the pipeline that carries oil / fuel from Colombo Harbour to Kolonnawa Oil Terminal, which is 40 to 70 years old and is in a highly dilapidated status and of the infrastructure facilities required for the purpose, and also to construct the oil pipeline accordingly and to call for open international bids to select a suitable contractor for the relevant construction work, was approved by the Cabinet.
