- The revision of the marriage registration fees from Rs.5,000/- to Rs.1,000/- as proposed in the Budget is implemented with effect from 2015?03?16. The proposal made by Hon. Joseph Michael Perera, the Minister of Home Affairs, to amend the Marriage Registration Ordinance for the said purpose, was approved by the Cabinet.
