- The proposal made by the Minister of Housing and Samurdhi, Sajith Premadasa, to make the state policy to provide the ownership of a house to every citizen of Sri Lanka, a success, in the launching of the National Housing Development Programme more productively, mustering a wide people's participation, to declare the 23rd day of June, 2015 being the first day which initiated the participatory Housing Day programme and to declare the Week starting from the National Housing Day as the 'Housing Week' with the implementation of the programme of housing construction within that week, was approved by the Cabinet.
