- The objective of the above MOU is to strengthen the co-operation in the field of coconut research and development between the two countries and to develop integrated coconut research and development programmes relating to scientific, technological and skill development prevalent in the sphere. Therefore, the proposal made by the Minister of Plantation Industries, Lakshman Kiriella, to obtain covering approval for the MOU entered into during H.E. President's visit to China in March this year and to implement the matters covered in the agreement within the next three (03) years, was approved by the Cabinet.
