- The construction work of the Colombo Port City Project has been suspended based on the recommendations of the Committee appointed to review this project. The proposal made by the Hon. Prime Minister Ranil Wickramasinghe, in his capacity as the Minister of Policy Planning, Economic Affairs, Child, Youth and Cultural Affairs, to appoint an Apex Committee chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister, to explore the possibility of authorizing the continuation of the project, after rectifying identified shortcomings and procedures, was approved by the Cabinet.
