Additional Allocation required for the provision of facilities to the IDPs recently resettled - The policy of the government is to resettle all the internally displaced persons (IDPs) in their places of origin. The proposal made by Hon.D.M. Swaminathan, the Minister of Resettlement, Reconstruction and Hindu Religious Affairs, to obtain Rs.160 million, to provide facilities for the resettlement of approximately 2,175 internally displaced families in the districts such as Jaffna and Trincomalee, to achieve this goal, was approved by the Cabinet. |
