- The Government has made huge investments in the Highways Sector during the period from 01?01?2011 to 08?01?2015. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Kabir Hashim, the Minister of Highways and Investment Promotion, to appoint a Highways Anti?corruption Investigation Unit functions under the Ministry of Highways and Investment Promotion, to conduct investigations to determine whether there were lapses in the administration, technical, financial and other procedures which could have led to significant losses to the Government and if so, to find out the persons responsible for such losses and to provide appropriate recommendations to alter the relevant procedures to avoid such occurrences in future, was approved by the Cabinet.
