- A delegation led by the Minister of Finance had participated in the above meeting representing Sri Lanka and during the said visit, the Minister of Finance had also participated in several official as well as some bilateral meetings. The attention of the Summit has been focused on overcoming the challenges of world economy. Even though the reduction of oil prices in the World Market has made a positive effect on the world economy, it has been pointed out in the Summit, that the world economy is still at a risk. Simultaneous to the participation of the above meeting, the Minister of Finance had met and held discussions with the officials of the State Department of the United States, the Hon. Finance Ministers of Malaysia, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and India and also with the high level officials of the World Bank and IMF. The Cabinet also noted that the Minister has also briefed the current political situation, the economic development and the development of the business environment in Sri Lanka, before the Chamber of Commerce of the United States.
