- The Cabinet approval has already been granted for the Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project 2015-2020 to be implemented to enhance the pipe born water services and the sanitation facilities focusing 540 Gramasevaka Niladhari Divisions in the Districts of Mullativu, Kilinochchi, Nuwara-eliya, Badulla, Kegalle, Monaragala and Ratnapura. The proposal made by the Minister of Finance Hon. Ravi Karunanayake to conduct loan negotiations and enter into a financial agreement with the International Development Agency of the World Bank to borrow a credit of US$ 165 million, equivalent amount in Special Drawing Rights, for the implementation of the above project, was approved by the Cabinet.
