- The Asian Development Bank has granted a loan amount of US$ 100 million to create a healthy environment more suited for the life of the urban population in Colombo by rehabilitating the Greater Colombo Waste Water Management Project. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Public Administration, Local Government and Democratic Governance, Hon. Karu Jayasuriya to award the contract for designing, construction, installation and rehabilitation of the waste water pumping stations within the Colombo Municipal limits, was approved by the Cabinet.
