- Various agencies and persons have proposed amendments to the Right to Information Bill approved by the Cabinet at its previous meeting, and as such, instead of submitting the amendments at the Committee Stage, a finalized draft amalgamating these amendments submitted to the Cabinet by the Prime Minister, Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe for consideration of the Cabinet, was approved by the Cabinet. Also, the proposal made by the Prime Minister, Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, not to present the Right to Information Bill and the National Audit Bill as urgent Bills, but to present them to the Parliament following the normal procedure applicable to the passing of Bills, was approved by the Cabinet.
