- The Government in its 100 Day Programme has pledged that it will endevour to make the amendments proposed to Buddhist Temporalities Ordinance on the advice, the instructions, the guidance and the approval of the chief prelates. The Bill to amend the Buddhist Temporalities Ordinance so prepared was presented to the Cabinet by the Minister of Buddha Sasana, Hon. Karu Jayasuriya. After discussion, it was deferred for the views of the Ministers concerned.
