- Sri Lanka maintains longstanding bilateral relations with the Republic of Philippines and the Kingdom of Cambodia and there is a potential to expand these relations into new sectors of cooperation for mutual benefit. As such, the Philippines and the Kingdom of Cambodia continue to cooperate with Sri Lanka in regional and multilateral forums. Accordingly, the proposal made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Mangala Samaraweera, for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka to enter into the Memoranda of Understanding on Political Consultations with the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Philippines and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia, was approved by the Cabinet.
