- The proposal made by Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, the Minister of Buddha Sasana, for the cremation ceremony of the Late Most Venerable Keerthi Sri Dhammadassi Rathnapala Buddharakkithabhidhana Thero, the Mahanayake of the Shiyamopali Maha Nikaya-Asgiriya Maha Vihara Chapter, the great Reverend Prelate who had rendered a noble societal mission, a yeoman service to Buddhism and the Buddhist Order, nationally and internationally as well, to be held under full State Patronage and to declare that Sunday, the 12th of April 2015 as a National Day of Mourning, was approved by the Cabinet.
