Memorandum of Understanding on Bilateral Consultation between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Royal Government of Bhutan

- Establishment of a mechanism for regular bilateral consultation between Colombo and Thimpu at the level of Foreign Secretaries is envisaged by the above Memorandum of Understanding, which will open up interactions with regard to important bilateral matters, regional and international issues of mutual interest including the views on political, economic, cultural and educational cooperation. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ajith P Perera, the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, to enter into the above Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Royal Government of Bhutan, during the forthcoming visit of Hon. Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Bhutan, to Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
