- To maintain a guaranteed price of Rs.80/- per kilo gram of raw tea leaf produced by Tea Smallholders is one of the proposals incorporated in the 100 days programme of the Government and the proposal has also been included in the interim budget presented to the Parliament on 29th January 2015 by the Minister of Finance. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, Minister of Plantation Industries, to ensure a guaranteed price of Rs. 80/- per kilo gram of raw tea leaf produced by Tea Smallholders under the 100 days programme of the Government, was approved by the Cabinet.
