Small Development Project Grant Assistance by the Government of India for the establishment of a state of the art Theater and Auditorium at the University of Ruhuna

- The Government of India has agreed to provide Rs.300 million on a grant assistance out of the cost of Rs.336 million estimated for the construction of a state of the art Theater and Auditorium with a seating capacity for 1500, at the University of Ruhuna, where approximately 7,320 students pursue higher studies in 46 Departments, and the proposal made by Hon. Kabeer Hasheem, Minister of Highways, Higher Education and Investment Promotion to sign the Memorandum of Understanding in this regard, was approved by the Cabinet.
