- collection of current data is necessary in taking policy decisions for the advancement of the health sector, and for the purpose it has been planned to conduct the Demographic Health Survey of Sri Lanka - 2014/2015 in this year. A survey of this nature, for the last time, had been conducted during the year 2006 and 2007 and the activities pertaining to the survey to be conducted this year will be carried out jointly by the Ministry of Health and Indigenous and the Department of Census and Statistics. The estimated cost for the survey is Two Hundred and One Million rupees. The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine to conduct the above survey, was approved by the Cabinet.
