- by the above agreement it is expected to strengthen, promote and develop the co-operation and mutual assistance on matters pertaining to customs and also to reinforce the mutual understanding and communication between the two countries. It is also expected to enhance the trade facilities and exchange of information and intelligence in customs matters. The proposal made by the Minister of Finance, Hon. Ravi Karunayake to sign the proposed agreement during the forthcoming visit to India by His Excellency the President was approved by the Cabinet.
