- the proposal made by the Minister of Social Services, Welfare and Livestock Development, Hon. P. Harrison to appoint a Ministerial Sub?Committee chaired by H.E. the President with the participation of the Hon. Prime Minister to expeditiously implement the recommendations made by the Committee of Experts appointed in this regard earlier by the respective Ministries with a view to preventing the further spreading of the chronic kidney disease which has become a national calamity and provide for the welfare of the patients now affected by the disease and their family members and also to appoint an Officials' Committee chaired by the Secretary to the President comprising of Senior Officials to assist the above Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
