- the proposal made by the Prime Minister Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe to appoint a Committee comprising of the following members to organize religious, social and cultural festival activities held at national, provincial and divisional levels to coincide with the Celebration of Vesak Festival 2015, was approved by the Cabinet.

* Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero - (Member of Parliament);
* Hon. Minister of Buddha Sasana - (Chairman);
* Hon. Minister of Public Security, Christian Religious Affairs and Disaster Management;
* Hon. Minister of Home Affairs and Fisheries;
* Hon. Minister of Education;
* Hon. Minister of Mass Media and Parliamentary Affairs:
* Hon. Minister of State for Culture ; and
* Hon. Minister of State for Defence.
