- construction work of 135 housing units under the First Phase and 153 housing units under the Second Phase of the above Multi-storied Housing Project has been completed by the Urban Settlement Development Authority to resettle the families displaced due to sea erosion and low income urban community residing within the limits of the Moratuwa Municipal Council Area. Construction work of the First and Second Phases of the Project has been awarded to the State Engineering Corporation. The proposals made by Hon. Wimal Weerawansa, Minister of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities, to increase the two cost estimates of the two projects due to additional items of work included, were approved by the Cabinet.
