- Milco Private Limited (Milco) which is a public enterprise engaged in milk processing industry has four main processing factories at Narahenpita, Digana, Ambewela and Polonnaruwa. Milco factory at Narahenpita which is located in a highly urbanized area has been proposed to be relocated at Badalgama in the Gampaha District. It is proposed to establish a dairy processing plant together with all necessary infrastructure and amenities, to produce pasteurized milk, yoghurt, ice cream, butter, cheese etc. in the new factory at Badalgama. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Finance and Planning, to proceed with the activities relating to funding arrangements, was approved by the Cabinet.
