- the proposed areas for co-operation under this Memorandum of Understanding include combating terrorism and transnational organized crime, water, sanitation and hygiene, renewable energy, agricultural and environmental policies, sustainable tourism, educational and cultural exchanges, cooperation in institution building as well as multilateral cooperation within the Framework of the United Nations. The proposal made by Hon. (Prof.) G.L. Peiris, Minister of External Affairs, to take appropriate action for the entry into force of the above Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries, was approved by the Cabinet.
