- the above water supply project intends to supply safe drinking water by March 2015 to 40,189 people living in the Melsiripura area. The project is to be implemented at a total cost of Rs.2460 million with financial assistance from domestic banks. The proposal made by Hon. Dinesh Gunawardena, Minister of Water Supply and Drainage, to invite technical and financial proposals for the purpose and to appoint a Project Committee (PC) to assist the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC) in the evaluation process, was approved by the Cabinet.
