- with the increasing demand for agriculture, transportation, tourism, commercial and other urban development activities in the Matale District, the Urban Development Authority has identified Naula Town in the said District to be developed as a planned city under the Regional Township Development Project. The proposal made by H.E. the President, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence and Urban Development, to vest the identified land in extent of 6.7884 hectares for the Naula Town Development Project, was approved by the Cabinet.
