Appointment of the Procurement Appeal Board

- the Procurement Appeal Board (PAB) has been established since 2005 under the provisions of the Procurement Guidelines in order to streamline and ensure transparency of the Government procurement process. The PAB is required to look into the appeals made by those unsuccessful bidders who are dissatisfied with the recommendations of the Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committees and Negotiating Committees and to submit their recommendations to the Cabinet for consideration. The proposal made by H.E. the President, to appoint the following persons to the Procurement Appeal Board with effect from 2014?08?16, was approved by the Cabinet:
* Justice Hector S Yapa Esquire
Former Judge of the Supreme Court and
Former Acting Chairman of the PAB;

* Mr. P.A. Pematilaka
Former Auditor General and
Former Member of the PAB; and
* Mr. V.K. Nanayakkara
former Secretary to the Prime Minister and
former Secretary to several Ministries.
